Description
The EKG Technician program at Halg Academy provides you with comprehensive training to perform accurate EKG tests and analyze the results. You will learn about the anatomy and physiology of the heart, proper electrode placement, and the identification of abnormal heart rhythms.
This certification is only carried out in person.
Course Content
- Module 1: Introduction to EKG
- Fundamentals of electrocardiography, cardiac anatomy and physiology, and the importance of EKG in medical diagnosis.
- Module 2: Electrode Placement and EKG Techniques
- Practice in the correct placement of electrodes, EKG recording techniques, and equipment handling.
- Module 3: EKG Interpretation
- Analysis of normal and abnormal heart rhythms, identification of arrhythmias and other EKG abnormalities.
- Module 4: Ethics and Professionalism in EKG
- Ethical standards, patient confidentiality, and professional responsibilities of the EKG technician.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older at the time of enrollment.
- Graduated High School Transcript/GED Transcript or Graduated College Transcript (ALL TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE HAND DELIVERED TO THE SCHOOL LOCATION. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!).
- Drivers License or an appropriate Government Issued ldentification Ex: (State ID, Military ID, or US Passport)
- Previous experience is NOT required.
